Ghost Stories Live 2014 laat beelden zien van een uniek optreden van Coldplay voor een handvol fans in maart 2014, twee maanden voor de release van het originele album. Dat optreden vond plaats in de op maat gebouwd amfitheater in de Sony Studios in Los Angeles. Regisseur Paul Dugdale, die ooit genomineerd is voor een Grammy, verzorgde de beelden voor het nieuwe Live-album.
Leadzanger Chris Martin: De Ghost Stories show in de Sony Studios was een erg speciaal moment voor onze band. Het magische theater, gebouwd door ons personeel inclusief 360 graden panorama schermen, was een droom die uitkwam. En het was de eerste keer buiten onze studio dat iemand de nieuwe nummers hoorde. De film is in principe onze eigen, oorspronkelijke visie op het Ghost Stories album.
